About Uniq Watch Mods

A brief introduction:
Hi, I am Daniel, the founder of Uniq Watch Mods. People who know me often ask me: "When did you get into watches?" I would say it all started in 2015, the year that I received my dad's vintage 36mm watch as a graduation gift. The watch, a Seiko SDT112J1 Age of Discovery, had been given to my dad by mom for his 21st birthday. The years following that I started following watch-related content on Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, YouTube and Spotify... and I started trying on different watches (Seiko, Bulova, Certina, Tissot, Hamilton, Oris, Cartier, Omega, Tudor, Panerai). Some of them I purchased, some of them I did not purchase.

That is me in the middle, standing between the CEO of Oris and the author who wrote the Oris Watch Book, at a watch meetup at the Oris Boutique in Amsterdam.

While getting into the watch hobby I started to notice that some watch designs (e.g., Daytona, Nautilus, Royal Oak, Speedmaster) that I liked were unattainable to me. So, what did I do? I started to build these watches myself using affordable parts from different manufacturers. I sourced the different parts from various suppliers; watch cases, hands, dials, bezel insert, crystals, Seiko movements, and put it all together. At work and during the weekends people started to show interest in my watch creations and some of them commissioned me to build a custom made watch for them. This is how Uniq Watch Mods was born.

My mission:
Uniq Watch Mods was founded to create unique watches at an accessible price point without sacrificing quality. This way you can rest assured that the custom watch that you order with me is going to last you for years. A stylish, high-quality watch should not need to cost thousands of euros.

Watches in the digital age:
Some people say watches have become obsolete, that our smartphones and our computers are more accurate at telling time. These people do not understand that watches are not only a tool with which we can tell what time it is, watches are much more than that:

  • Medals to celebrate important achievements. For example: a graduation, a job promotion, or a business success.
  • Intimate gifts to loved ones that they carry close with them (on their wrist) at all times.
  • Nostalgic items that remind us of simpler times that have gone by.
  • Complex pieces of mechanical technology with hundreds of parts working together to achieve one goal: telling time.
  • A way of displaying one's character, personality, and style.

Custom orders:

This website shows a glimpse of the watches that I have built so far. If you have a watch in mind that is not being shown here, please contact me via e-mail (uniqwatchmods@gmail.com) or send me a private message on Facebook or Instagram.

Every watch sold on my website is not in stock and is made to order.

Important disclaimer:
All the watches that I build use Seiko-branded dials (which I source from third-party suppliers) and official Seiko movements. You have the option to customize the dial with your own name and/or logo (at and added cost of €60). However, I do not print other brand names or logos on the watch dial.

All watches are build by me, meaning that none of these watches have been released by Seiko.
